Childhood online game Club Penguin was discontinued back in 2017 due to a decline in popularity, but creators have just relaunched the animated internet community to cure people's self-isolation boredom.
00s kids, it's time to fire up Windows XP because Club Penguin is officially back. We never thought we'd be saying that either, but since its discontinuation in 2017, the online community is returning to entertain us all mid-quarantine.

Disney's Club Penguin originally launched in 2005 as a safe online community set in a virtual winter world, where users would play as, you guessed it, penguins.
And if you weren't previously banned for life for swearing, it's time to hit the ice once again, because the relaunched version Club Penguin Online has pretty much all the same features as the original. Who else is about to spend two hours choosing their penguin's colour?

And it seems like hitting up the pizza parlour without standing six feet apart from your friends is already proving popular, because since the relaunch last month, over six million people have signed up to play.
What's more, membership to the new version is totally free, so you no longer have to worry about begging your parents for £2.99 to get your furry friend a wardrobe upgrade. SOLD.
Notable nostalgia moments, including multiple servers in different languages, 2am therapy sessions in your friend's igloo and hitting up the night club, complete with light up floor, are all still fully intact. Oh, and the swearing ban is still firmly in place, sorry 'bout it.
Due to the current circumstances (thanks corona), fans are even using the nostalgic game to host proms, parties and graduations that they'd otherwise be missing out on this year, and the era of the puffle may truly be back. Just, slightly older.
